Himalayas Before Dawn

from £22.00

In 2022 I hiked to Everest Base Camp. The morning after reaching Base Camp, I hiked up Kala Patthar to see sunrise. Hiking up at 4am to at around 5500 meters elevation with freezing cold temperatures, taking photos wasn’t my main priority. However when the dark night started to turn to blue hour the mammoth Pumori mountain became visible. In this frame stands a singular fellow hiker with their headlamp on showing the sheer scale of these mountains. An amazing moment and a lesson in nature, regardless of conditions things change fast in the Himalayas. This was my favourite image of that trip because I really think it brings the spirituality and god like ambience that surrounds you in the Nepalese Himalayas.

Printed with Fuji Crystal Archive DPII Digital Pearl paper (Except Large).
